Silverstone Festival 2025: A Celebration of Speed

Posted on August 20, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Silverstone Festival 2025: A Celebration of Speed

The 2025 Silverstone Festival is shaping up to be a three-day celebration of speed, style, and spectacular engineering. With over 800 race entries and thousands of classic cars filling the paddocks, every corner offers something to admire – whether you’re into Ferrari finesse, British sportscar charm, or raw American muscle.

The paddocks will be buzzing with motorsport icons from every golden era, while central displays mix legendary nameplates with rare gems you’d be lucky to spot on the road. This year’s highlights are as diverse as they are extraordinary – from Royal Land Rovers to cutting-edge hypercars.

To help plan your visit, here are ten standout attractions you won’t want to miss.

1. The World Champions Collection

Silverstone Festival - The World Champions Collection

With Formula 1 celebrating its 75th anniversary, Silverstone has curated a unique tribute to the 34 drivers who’ve claimed the sport’s ultimate crown. From Giuseppe Farina’s 1950 Alfa Romeo to Max Verstappen’s title-winning Red Bull, the display offers a complete timeline of champions’ cars. It’s a rare chance to see the machines that shaped F1 history – all in one place.

2. 2006 Range Rover L322 – By Royal Appointment

2006 Range Rover L322 - By Royal Appointment

A standard L322 Range Rover might not raise eyebrows. But this one, a V8 supercharged custom build once owned by Queen Elizabeth II, is in a different league. Featuring a silver labrador bonnet mascot, it’s as regal as it is robust. It will cross the block in Iconic Auctioneers’ Iconic Sale during the Festival – so bring your chequebook if you fancy some royal motoring history.

3. Hands-On Formula 1 Experiences

Silverstone’s deep F1 roots shine through this year with support from Alpine, Red Bull, McLaren, Mercedes, and Williams.

  • Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS offers a thrilling pit-stop challenge.
  • Williams Racing presents a new immersive Fan Zone, with esports sim rigs and STEM activities for the next generation of race engineers.

It’s the closest you’ll get to Grand Prix life without signing a driver contract.

4. RML P39 – Safety Car with Supercar Swagger

RML P39

Even the safety car is a showpiece this year. The RML P39, based on the Porsche 992.1 Turbo S, boasts rare exclusivity – only 39 units will ever be built. Expect it to steal as many glances as the race leaders it’s protecting.

5. Red Bull RB17 – Adrian Newey’s Farewell Masterpiece

Red Bull RB17 - Adrian Newey’s Farewell Masterpiece

Michelin is bringing the RB17, Red Bull Racing’s first production car. Designed under the guidance of Adrian Newey, it features a carbon monocoque, mid-mounted V10 engine, and a £5 million starting price. Production is limited to 50 examples. It’s less a car, more a rolling sculpture with extreme performance credentials.

6. Golden Anniversary Parades – Jaguar XJS & Lotus Esprit

Golden Anniversary Parades - Jaguar XJS & Lotus Esprit

Two icons of British motoring turn 50 this year. The Jaguar XJS and Lotus Esprit will celebrate with anniversary parades organised by their owners’ clubs. Expect plenty of chrome, colour, and nostalgia as they take to the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

7. Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 – Touring Car Legend

Few cars stir up motorsport memories like the Sierra RS500. This year’s retro racing grids feature flame-spitting examples battling for a one-off trophy presented by tin-top legend Andy Rouse. If you love your racing raw, loud, and sideways, don’t miss it.

8. Dragsters Return – Santa Pod’s Show-Stealers

Highlights include:

  • Daily fire-ups of ear-splitting machines.
  • A crowd-thrilling appearance from Fireforce 3 Jet Car.
  • Hot Rod cruises, rally car demos from Slowly Sideways, and stunt legend Terry Grant performing gravity-defying tricks.

9. Jowett Jupiter – Yorkshire’s Le Mans Winner

A 1950s British sportscar with a proud racing pedigree, the Jowett Jupiter famously secured a 1-2 class win at Le Mans in 1950. This year, three period racers will compete in the Woodcote Trophy, while more than 20 road-going examples join the Jowett Car Club display.

10. 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray – Driven by a Sporting Legend

1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

V8 thunder meets Olympic pedigree. The #30 Corvette Stingray, entered in the International Trophy for Classic GT cars, will be driven by Sir Chris Hoy. Expect the six-time gold medallist to swap pedal power for serious petrol power in spectacular style.

Beyond the Cars – Entertainment for All

The Silverstone Festival isn’t just about stunning machinery. Your ticket also includes:

  • Live music from Natasha Bedingfield, Craig David presents TS5, and Ministry of Sound Classical.
  • A Foodie Fest with artisan treats and local flavours.
  • Funfair rides, stunt shows, and family activities.
  • Access to both paddocks, grandstand seating, and the Silverstone Museum.

Children 15 and under get in free with a paying adult, making it one of the best-value Bank Holiday weekends in the motoring calendar.
