Karma’s New Coupe Has More Screens Than Seats

Karma’s New Coupe Has More Screens Than Seats

Karma previewed the Amaris extended-range electric vehicle earlier this year, highlighting the coupe’s exterior design. Now, the automaker is showing off the interior ahead of the car’s public appearance at Monterey Car Week.

This is our first look at the car’s cabin, which features a steering squircle with exposed carbon trim and what appear to be capacitive touch controls. It sits in front of a standard-looking digital gauge cluster. There’s also a large infotainment screen low on the dash, a third screen in front of the passenger, and a floating gear selector on the center console.

Karma finished the interior, shown in its two-seat configuration, in Crimson Orbit leather and suede with carbon fiber and piano black accents. There’s exposed carbon fiber on the center console and rear support brace, with designers sculpting the rear compartment to accommodate luggage. It also has an electrochromatically adjustable glass roof.

Powering the Amaris GT Coupe is a pair of electric motors with a turbocharged four-cylinder generator and a 41.5-kilowatt-hour battery. Karma claims the system produces 708 horsepower and 676 pound-feet of torque, propelling the car to 60 miles per hour in less than 3.4 seconds. It has a 165-mph, electronically limited top speed. The Karma can travel up to 100 miles on electric power and over 400 miles with the generator.

The Amaris wears an evolution of the brand’s Comet Line design language, riding on an all-aluminum space frame architecture with a carbon fiber and aluminum body. It has 22-inch Constellation wheels and a clamshell hood that incorporates Karma’s Target lighting signature.

Karma still expects to begin Amaris production in the fourth quarter of 2026. It’ll have a starting price of approximately $200,000. We expect the automaker to announce a more formal starting price closer to its launch for the 2027 model year.
