Siddharth Bhat

Company: DLZ Corporation

Title: Mechanical Engineer

Age: 30

Siddharth Bhat has always been passionate about sustainability and the impact of the built environment on human health and the planet, making HVAC and plumbing engineering a natural fit for his mechanical engineering background.

“It allowed me to combine technical problem-solving with my commitment to creating high-performance, environmentally responsible spaces,” said Bhat.

Now at DLZ Corporation, Bhat leads projects to not only meet performance targets, but also to push the boundaries of environmental responsibility and occupant well-being.

“My primary goal is to design comfortable and healthy built environments for occupants while integrating advanced occupancy controls, all within the framework of sustainability and energy efficiency,” said Bhat.

Throughout his HVAC and plumbing engineering journey, Bhat has earned the distinction of passing the Professional Engineer license exams in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.

“This has given me a holistic understanding of integrative design and how both disciplines interact within complex building systems,” said Bhat.

Additionally, Bhat was one of 19 global experts selected to serve on the WELL Water Advisory Committee. This role gave him the chance to help develop strategies that enhance water quality and promote better health in buildings around the world.

Bhat also serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for LEED, which he said has been a milestone in his career.

“Through this role, I’ve contributed to the development of LEED exam content, helping to shape and support global sustainability standards within the building industry across the world,” Bhat said.

Bhat’s technical expertise and global perspective continue to drive his mission: designing buildings that support people and the planet.
