Jeep Teases Updated 2026 Grand Wagoneer

  • Jeep will update its Grand Wagoneer with a new look, and probably new cabin tech, later this year

Jeep’s largest vehicle will get a visual and technology update for the 2026 model year. The company is keeping details under wraps, but has released a teaser photo giving us our first glimpse of the updated 2026 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

Automakers redesign most cars completely every five to 10 years. That’s a long time to build a product unchanged. Each car faces newer competition every year, as they’re usually on a different update schedule than competitors from other brands.

So, most companies give every vehicle a partial update at the midway point of a production run. A so-called “mid-cycle refresh” usually means a new look, updated creature comforts and cabin technology, and sometimes minor tweaks to the drivetrain that automakers can achieve without overhauling the factory.

Jeep hasn’t offered any details on what technology or mechanical updates it might have in store for the Grand Wagoneer. However, the photo shows a remade front fascia that borrows heavily from Jeep’s all-electric models.

Look Blends Gasoline, EV Cues

  • The major change is a new lit grille that borrows heavily from Jeep EVs

There may be no other automaker as easily identified by its grille. That gives designers a useful cue to play off of, but they can’t change it radically without risking a brand’s identity. Jeep designers, in recent years, have used the classic seven-slot grille for internal-combustion-powered vehicles like the Grand Cherokee and a backlit reinterpretation of it for electric vehicles (EVs) like the Wagoneer S.

For the next Grand Wagoneer, designers have neatly meshed the two. It’s unquestionably a gas-powered car, but now wears a lighted grille that hints at the classic seven-slot look. It floats above a new wide lower air dam. Narrow daytime running lights make an almost-continuous line with the grille lighting.

The result is a polished, high-tech look that leaves you uncertain whether you’re looking at a gas-powered car or an EV – perfect for a brand straddling the line by selling both.

We’ll bring more as the launch date approaches. Jeep says the 2026 model will debut “later this year.”
