Hey everyone I guess I was posting possibly in a different area for the issue I’m having I live on Maui I have an 04 XC70 it’s really having a hard time starting in the morning it’s been having this issue for a little while it’s not every time but once in awhile. Some mornings when I crank the motor will just kind of start chunking along feeling like it wants to start but not really then usually after a few tries it chugs the life very thick and heavy until it cleans up after about 4 to 5 seconds then it revs normally and starts normally throughout the course of the day. I know for a fact I was losing fuel pressure overnight I changed the fuel pump now my pressure is back still crank no start. During cranking as my voltage is dropped I get a warning for immobilizer and also alarm system service required or something like that. Also right now I’m reading codes for 135 misfire and also multiple misfire code that comes with it and an 0700 transmission code my neutral switch is working properly car cranks and park and in neutral I got a code for the neutral switch a while back at AutoZone but my reader doesn’t show it and it’s not failing to my knowledge again cranks in park and drive. I bought this car about 5 months ago I can easily swing a wrench on most things on most cars with exception of electrical glitches. Of course unless I know where to look. My question is would it be prudent to have a mobile mechanic with a real scanner come out here and get deep to try to track this issue I love this little car but I have to have it start in the morning as you could imagine. So some of the things I’ve gone after are the coolant temperature sensor fuel pump now and the rail is getting pressure that is verified also I’m doing a restore and protect treatment with Valvoline oil that is working well I have one more cycle with that. Also I discovered after about a month of owning the car looked like there was some metallic **** in my coolant like they used head sealer on the car and then sold it to me or we’re trying to seal something not the water pump the water pump timing belt are all brand new done by the owner less than 10,000 miles ago I’ve been having a little cooling issues here and there I have a new radiator that I’m going to install I’m thinking maybe fuel filter also but the car wouldn’t run as good as it does when it finally starts if it was that I don’t believe I know a little bit about cars. Coolant pipe on top of radiator disconnected a few days back got that one figured out clamp wasn’t tight enough I still have the lip on my radiator but I got a new one coming did some of that fluid possibly foul something like the alternator or some important wires that are in that zone? I’m just really confused here car has 163,000 miles on it I’m going to test the compression today I’m just really at a loss I don’t think I’m getting spark at this point going to check for that today as well but I’m bummed cuz I like this car please can someone help me out I’m in a pickle which I don’t mind cuz I love pickles.
