I found two threads (one and two) semi-related to this topic although I am not sure they are exactly my issue so here goes.

The driver side seat controls intermittently stop working. Neither the controls nor the memory buttons will move the seat. The general pattern is:

  1. With key in ignition (car not running) can adjust the seats, either with individual controls or memory buttons.
  2. Start the car and try again – they don’t move. They never return to working while driving.
  3. Turning off the car and going back to step 1 immediately they still don’t work.
  4. Waiting for a period of time, they do start working again.

Example: I was on a long drive home today. I adjusted the seat at a rest stop before starting the car and it worked. I started the car and wanted to make another adjustment – it didn’t work. I turned the car off and tried to adjust with the key in position II and III – no luck. Fortunately the car was in a driveable position. Just now (about 5 hours after arriving home) I tried the whole sequence above again and exactly the same: working again with engine off, not working after starting the car, and not working after turning off the car with the key in position II.

Any ideas?
