The paultan.org Premium Auto Car Expo (PACE) 2025 is in full swing, currently happening at Setia City Convention Centre (SCCC) from 9am to 7pm. One of the big displays at the show is the Mercedes-Benz booth, organised by Hap Seng Star and featuring the latest and greatest models from the Three-pointed Star.
Front and centre of the stand is the new, all-electric G580 with EQ Technology, launched just last month. The zero-emission version of Mercedes’ iconic geländewagen swaps out the usual V8 for four electric motors for a sum total of 587 PS (432 kW) and a towering 1,164 Nm of torque. This not only gives this leviathan with a startling turn of pace (zero to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds) but also enables torque vectoring and a G-Turn function that spins the car up to 720 degrees on the spot.
Priced at RM958,888, the electric G580 is not cheap, but it’s less than half the price of the petrol-powered Mercedes-AMG G63 – you can thank the ongoing tax exemptions for EVs. You can also get the car in limited-run Edition One form with exclusive Manufaktur paint finishes and design touches, costing a cool RM50,000 more.
Speaking of AMG, another highlight is the Mercedes-AMG SL63 4Matic+, the most powerful petrol version (sitting below the new plug-in hybrid SL63S E Performance) of Stuttgart’s reborn roadster. Sharing its underpinnings with the latest AMG GT, it reintroduces a soft top that can be folded away in just 15 seconds, as well as small rear seats for greater practicality.
Power comes from Affalterbach’s rorty 585 PS/800 Nm 4.0 litre twin-turbo V8, mated to an nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G automatic transmission and AMG Performance 4Matic all-wheel drive – the latter can be locked into rear-wheel drive for lurid, smoky slides. It’s yours for a heady RM1,898,888.
Elsewhere, there are attractive deals on Mercedes’ PHEVs and EVs as part of the MyMercedesRewards campaign. The C350e is the obvious highlight, available with up to RM50,000 in deals, plus 5x complimentary Compact Service scheduled maintenance and one year of Star Platinum extended limited warranty if the car is financed through Agility Financing.
Similarly, the E350e can be had with a MyMercedesReward of up to RM15,000, as well as up to RM5,200 in motor insurance premium support. Meanwhile, the GLC350e SUV gets a MyMercedesReward of up to RM25,000 and up to RM4,500 in motor insurance support.
There are even bigger promotions on the EQ range of EVs. The EQS500 gets a MyMercedesReward of up to an astonishing RM220,000, and if financed through the Agility Financing Plan, it will also come with ICE on Demand, providing buyers with access to a combustion-engined Mercedes-Benz for ten days a year. Meanwhile, the EQE350+ AMG Line can be had with a MyMercedesReward of up to RM100,000.
As per the C350e, both cars come with 5x complimentary Compact Service scheduled maintenance and one year of Star Gold extended limited warranty; there’s also up to RM4,800 in motor insurance premium support if the cars are financed through Agility Financing. The latter also provides buyers of all the models mentioned with MobilityPlus that guarantees a complimentary replacement car during scheduled maintenance or warranty-related repairs, along with RM300 worth of charging credits.
Agility Financing differs from traditional hire purchase schemes by offering a shorter tenure and lower monthly repayments, making it easier to get behind the wheel of your dream Mercedes-Benz. It also gives the freedom of flexibility at the end of your term – you can choose to either settle the remainder of your loan, return the car or upgrade to new Mercedes-Benz on another Agility Financing plan.
Mercedes-Benz is just one of the myriad of brands being showcased at PACE 2025 – BMW and MINI (both represented by Auto Bavaria), Audi, BYD, Denza, Hyundai, Kia, Mazda, Xpeng, GWM, GAC and Zeekr will all be participating in the event. Two-wheelers will also be present in the shape of BMW Motorrad, while Kineta and Trapo will also be showing their wares.
Aside from the bountiful deals on offer from each brand, there are also great giveaways in store from us at paultan.org. The first 200 people to place a booking on a new car will walk away with RM3,000 worth of vouchers from our supporting partners, including Solar Gard, Dodomat, The Carage, Kuzig Glanz, Gintell and DK Schweizer.
The RM3,000 worth of vouchers will also be given to the first 40 bike bookings, and that’s not all. Confirm your new car booking and you will be entered into a lucky draw that will win you prizes including ten smartphones worth RM3,500 each and the grand prize – a holiday package for two worth RM25,000!
There are still a couple of hours to go to check out the best deals, guaranteed vouchers and many more before PACE closes at 7pm today, and the show will also be open tomorrow. See you here!
