One of RUF’s greatest legacies is of the venerated CTR nameplate, and the RUF CTR 2 Sport served as the pinnacle and grand finale of RUF’s air-cooled offerings, making it one of the most coveted masterpieces from the iconic manufacturer for its enthusiasts and collectors. At this year’s Monterey Car Week, one of the world’s most anticipated annual automotive events featuring incredible displays, concours shows, unveilings, and auctions, Broad Arrow Auctions is presenting the opportunity to own one.
At the auction house’s 2025 Monterey Jet Center Auction, a CTR 2 Sport, the first road-legal RUF model in the US, will be crossing the block. One of just four examples like it specified with all-wheel drive, the 3.6-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine boasts 580 horsepower and 505 lb/ft of torque, giving the car a 3.6-second 0-60 time and an estimated top speed of 217 mph, matching some of the greatest supercars of today despite it being a 1998 model from the very end of the air-cooled era.
The car is also one of just 29 RUF CTR 2s and 14 CTR 2 Sports, with incredible features like the first-ever use of carbon disc brakes on a roadgoing production car, the CTR 2 Sport featured by Broad Arrow Auctions at their 2025 Monterey Jet Center Auction is a 1998 car with a black-on-black configuration that was later redone with a green interior.
