POO17 code on 2003 S40 | SwedeSpeed

Hey I just wanted to see if there was anything I can do about this code and if I should put a new part on. The code is P0017 crankshaft position: camshaft position correlation bank 1 sensor b and the part is an exhaust cam sensor Volvo part number 9202388-4996-01 my mechanic had me replaced it with a refurbished one I got online but you can see the OEM sensor in the last picture. So when he replaced it I saw that there was holes for one that was missing and I asked him about it and he said it only needs one but the CEL is still there after replacing and you can see where the replaced one is and the and the part with the holes without it in the first pictures. I just wanted to see if buying another one or putting the old OEM in would change anything there is no connector I noticed for it like the one on the left that’s deeper in the engine bay but would it be worth it to buy this, could it take away CEL, and I don’t have the hardware to install the missing one so would anyone know where to get that or if it’s worth it? I’m getting an oil change and a new battery this weekend the speedometer goes in and out too I have no idea what it’s from but hoping a new battery will fix it because the one in there is old. The pictures are attached also wanted to add that mechanic modified it to pass emissions so I don’t know if that has anything to do with it but just let me know any info I don’t know anything about cars so I probably sound naive but I’m trying to start learning so thanks for any input.
