Beijing Hyundai ELEXIO Interior Design Unveiled

Beijing Hyundai ELEXIO Interior Design Unveiled

Posted on July 8, 2025 By rehan.rafique No Comments on Beijing Hyundai ELEXIO Interior Design Unveiled

After five years of development, Beijing Hyundai has officially unveiled its first all-electric SUV — the Hyundai ELEXIO back in June. Set to launch in September 2025, we had been waiting for the interior design to be revealed, as it was not shown during initial unveiling. What do you think?

Minimalist Interior with Futuristic Touches

Hyundai has adopted a clean, minimalist design for the ELEXIO’s cabin. The dashboard features a horizontal chrome accent strip that extends across its width, framed by dual-tone leather materials that add texture and visual depth. The overall aesthetic is modern and premium.

A standout feature is the standard dual-screen setup, which includes a massive 27-inch 4K ultra-clear central infotainment and passenger entertainment display. This high-resolution screen not only enhances visual appeal but also reinforces the vehicle’s technological edge.

Interestingly, the ELEXIO does away with a traditional instrument cluster. Instead, a small auxiliary display in front of the driver is complemented by what appears to be a HUD (head-up display) system — a layout similar to that used in premium EVs like those from Li Auto.

Smart Storage and Thoughtful Details

The center console offers plenty of storage solutions designed for modern lifestyles. This includes:

  • Dual expandable cupholders
  • A sliding-cover storage compartment
  • Dual wireless charging pads for front-seat occupants
  • An additional rear storage box for back-seat passengers’ personal items

Hyundai’s attention to detail is evident in these subtle yet practical features, enhancing daily usability for both drivers and passengers.

Stylish Two-Tone Interior and Youthful Appeal

Door panels feature a two-tone color scheme that matches the cabin’s overall palette, contributing to a cohesive design. While the layout favors simplicity and spaciousness, it slightly compromises on luxury feel — a tradeoff likely made in favor of maximizing practicality and cost efficiency.

Striking Exterior with Retro-Futuristic Vibes

On the outside, the Hyundai ELEXIO features a closed front grille, a design hallmark of modern EVs. Its slim, matrix-style LED headlights are connected by a full-width light bar, giving the vehicle a futuristic and high-tech appearance.

Additional highlights include:

  • Sculpted body lines with a segmented layout
  • Black-out window trim and mirror caps
  • A distinctive triangular D-pillar design that adds a bold, retro-inspired flair

At the rear, the light bar connects seamlessly with the trim on the D-pillars, emphasizing the SUV’s cohesive design language and technological sophistication.

Powertrain Options: Single and Dual Motor Variants

The Hyundai ELEXIO will be available in two electric configurations:

  • Single-motor version: Delivers up to 160 kW of power
  • Dual-motor version: Adds a rear motor with 73 kW, providing enhanced all-wheel drive performance

This variety gives consumers the flexibility to choose between efficiency and performance based on their individual needs.

Final Thoughts: Will the ELEXIO Revive Hyundai’s Popularity in China?

From both interior and exterior perspectives, the Beijing Hyundai ELEXIO shows strong potential in the EV space. With stylish design, advanced infotainment, and practical storage solutions, it offers a well-rounded package.

However, to win back Chinese consumers’ hearts and regain its former market share, Hyundai will need to deliver aggressive pricing that surprises and delights — especially in a price-sensitive and tech-savvy segment.

Stay tuned for the official launch in Q3 2025. If priced right, the Hyundai ELEXIO could very well be Hyundai’s electric comeback story in China.
