Gallery #2 Spring Carlisle Swap Meet Photos: Joe Grippo Cruises This Huge Swap Meet And Show To See What Kinds Of Cool Stuff Showed Up
Photo gallery #2 is below, and if you missed the first one, we’ve got a link for you to check them out below as well.
(Words and Photos by Joe Grippo) Ahh, Springtime in Pennsylvania, one day it’s 50 degrees and 83 degrees the next, then it will rain for a week. Gotta love the inconsistency, every day is something different. One consistent thing we can rely on though is having fun for a few days at the Carlisle, Pa Fairgrounds exploring the Carlisle Spring Swap Meet. Spring Carlisle is one of the largest automotive flea markets in the world and one of the best opportunities to get your hands on all things automotive. With 8,100 spaces of vendors selling a vast array of automotive parts, accessories, cars, collectibles and memorabilia, it’s almost certain that you won’t go home empty handed. Accompanied by the massive automotive flea market and car coral is a Manufacture Midway featuring the latest and greatest products & services.
The old mantra “I found it at Carlisle!”, held true once again this year and you will see what I mean when you dig into the gallery and check some of the cool shit offered up for sale. Looking for some cool vintage wheels? How about a set of Cragar Screamers or a pair of badass M/T Bear Claws! Potential projects were everywhere ranging from full on barn finds to rusty hulks dragged out of who knows where. Looking for a running, driving ride? Then the car corral was for you. If you are well heeled, Corvette power broker Rod Saboury had an absolutley killer custom painted ex-Super Stocker C2 for sale. If you had a death wish, maybe the SBC powered, flip-frontend MG was for you. Sketchiness personified. Maybe vintage toys and collectibles are more your speed? Spring Carlisle has you covered, we spied a barrel full of old school orange Hot Wheels track and a cool Planet of the Apes model. A heart stopping find for this BangShifter was the 1981 CW Racing Z-Frame BMX bike project, hadn’t seen one of those in years.
You don’t have to wait until next year to get in on the fun, Fall Carlisle is happening later this year and will feature more of the same. Carlise Events also hosts brand specific shows throughout the year for Chrysler, GM, Ford, and many more. I will be back a few times this summer and I can’t wait.
