Land Rover just turned up the heat on its most powerful and capable Defender yet. Say hello to the 2026 Defender OCTA Black—a bold, all-black evolution of the already ferocious OCTA that cranks up the attitude both on and off the road.

This high-performance beast now gets a stealthy new look, with no less than 30 blacked-out exterior elements. Finished in Narvik Black—the deepest, glossiest black in the Defender palette—OCTA Black makes its presence felt long before the V8 roars to life. For those who want a darker edge, a matte protective film is available for a more aggressive vibe.
Every detail has been dialed up: the front and rear scuff plates now wear a Satin Black Powder Coat, quad exhaust tips are finished in Gloss Black, and even the recovery and tow eyes are blacked out. Even the underbody elements weren’t spared, with the exhaust silencer and center box also going full stealth mode.
Buyers can choose between 20-inch forged wheels or 22-inch Gloss Black alloys, both paired with black center caps and Shadow Atlas Defender badging. Gloss Black brake calipers with Sentient Silver script complete the look.

Inside, the cabin is where tough meets tailored. Defender OCTA Black introduces Ebony Semi-Aniline Leather with Kvadrat™ for the first time, giving the performance seats a premium, tactile finish. New perforation patterns and Carpathian Grey seat back detailing add just the right amount of visual punch. The dashboard’s Cross Car Beam gets a Satin Black Powder Coat finish, while optional Chopped Carbon Fiber trim brings motorsport style to the mix.
“Defender OCTA is already the most extreme version of Defender we’ve ever built,” says Mark Cameron, Managing Director, Defender. “With OCTA Black, we’ve taken that to another level. It’s our most visually aggressive and luxurious Defender yet.”
And under the hood? Nothing changes—and that’s a good thing. OCTA Black retains its 626-hp (635PS) 4.4-liter twin-turbo mild-hybrid V8, backed by 6D Dynamics suspension and a unique OCTA Mode for serious off-road capability. Inside, it’s also equipped with Body and Soul Seats (BASS), developed with SUBPAC™, which let front passengers literally feel the music from the 700W Meridian™ surround sound system.
OCTA Black benefits from the latest updates to the Defender lineup, including a sharper new headlight design, smoked rear lenses, and a 13.1-inch touchscreen that brings the tech up to speed with the SUV’s brute force.
The OCTA Black joins the Defender OCTA range, now also available in fresh new colorways like Sargasso Blue and Borasco Grey, alongside Charente Grey and Petra Copper.
