We’ve got another car show video from John Jackson at Not Stock Photography and this time he’s visiting South Dakota for Automania at Valley Springs. This is a car show that you might not expect in the Dakotas, but that sure has some awesome rides. One particularly special hot rod is the 1940 Ford of Larry Olson, who John gets to cruise around with. Check it out below.

Great People and Great times…..Oh and great cars.
That’s how id describe Automata this past weekend in Valley Springs South Dakota. I was just driving through South Dakota on my way to Desmoines Iowa for the 4th of July GoodGuys Car Show, and decided to stop in the Sioux Falls Area to visit some friends.
When I rolled in on Friday I just kind of bounced around town visiting cool places like Dakota Digital, and Bowmans Real Hotrods…….but the main reason I stopped was to say hi to one of my favorite HotRod collectors Larry Olson.
Ive photographed tons of Larrys Cars over the Years, and always want to swing by and check out what new cool addition he has, and Im glad I stopped by the Ritz to find out.
Larry recently purchased my favorite 40 ford of all time that was built by Al Adams in his little small Garage in Illinois. Al had recently had some health issues, and had to let the car go, and Larry was able to purchase it from Al so it definitely went to a good home.
When I stopped by the Ritz Friday night I caught everyone in the middle of deciding who was going to drive what to the show. Of course I called Dibs on Larrys Alloway built Riviera, but was told they where taking Fords only so I was chosen to drive his really cool five window. Then I found out Larry was going to drive the Green 40 just as another friend walked in asking if he needed a driver so I offered the five window under the guise of just being a nice guy, but really just wanted to ride in the 40 haha.
Ok I guess I should actually talk about the Automania Car Show instead of how lucky I get to ride in one of my favorite Hotrods. They shut down all of Downtown Valley Springs , and all the locals came rolling in over a hour early to find prime shady spots in the Hot South Dakota Summer. The show had it all from great cars, a great band, and even the best ice cream Ive ever had from the students at Sodak State.
I think this one is going to be put on my schedule for next year, and maybe I can talk Larry into letting me drive his Rivi haha Thanks for Watching.
