It’s no secret that restomods Corvettes have become one of the hottest sectors of the collector car hobby. We’ve been tracking their growth in our Top 11 lists for years now. With their blend of classic styling matched with modern amenities and performance, restomods are the perfect choice for that weekend cruise or car show.
Whenever a high end restomod like this black 1968 coupe at Barrett-Jackson earlier this year hit the market, eager bidders make it rain all over the auction block.
The black over black C3 sits on Roadster Shop chassis. A 650hp LT4 provides the power while 14-inch brakes on all 4 corners attempt to bring all that muscle to a stop. A 4L75 automatic transmission routes power to the 3.55 gears out back. Firestone tires wrap Forgeline 19-inch wheels while Recaro seats provide a warm hug to each occupant. Factory-style side exhaust and bumpers complete the menacing look of this incredible build.
It’s always fun to sit back and watch bidders throw big money around at the car auctions. Bidding on this one starts off at $50k and steadily rises past $100k, then $200k, and finally stops at an astonishing $380,000. With that, enjoy the next 2 and a half minutes while living vicariously on the crowded auction block at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale.
