Corvette owners are known for being fanatical about their cars, but the previous owner of this 1963 Sting Ray convertible really took it to the extreme.
That owner passed away in 2024 after buying this blue over black roadster at the turn of the century, and from the start, he proceeded to keep detailed records, even going so far as to document how many times he pumped the gas pedal on a cold start.
Now the current owner is offering this “well-maintained” Corvette on Craigslist out of Long Island, New York, with what we consider to be a pretty fair asking price of $59,900.
Admittedly, that price won’t get you a totally original Corvette, but the changeover to a TKO 600 five-speed manual transmission with 3.08 gears should make the car more enjoyable to drive at highway speeds since the engine won’t be having to work so hard.
While it may not be factory original, the car appears to have been well taken care of for at least the last quarter of a century, with the factory 327 V8 engine having been rebuilt in 2000 when the car had only 44,000 miles. It’s since been driven only 9,000 more miles, and the seller promises today it “runs and drives flawless.”
Described as “absolutely stunning,” the car features paint and bodywork redone in 2018 “to a really high quality” and is “still in amazing condition with only a few minor flaws.”
The black interior and white top, meanwhile, are said to be “perfect,” and everything works as it should, including all lights, gauges, heat, wipers, horn, and AM radio.
Not really surprising that the car is in such good shape, since the previous owner obviously loved taking care of his car. “It’s absolutely wild the detail the guy went into,” the seller says of the “captain’s log” that was maintained for 24 years. “You could tell it was his baby.”
