Chris Krehmeyer is the President and CEO of Beyond Housing, a nationally recognized nonprofit organization based in St. Louis, Missouri. Since taking the helm in 1993, he has led the organization’s mission to create holistic, community-driven solutions that address housing, education, health, and economic development. Under his leadership, Beyond Housing has grown into one of the most comprehensive community development organizations in the country, providing hundreds of affordable housing units and spearheading projects that include a grocery store, movie theater, food hall, and health center, all designed to strengthen underserved communities.
A graduate of Washington University in St. Louis with a degree in Urban Studies, Chris has dedicated his career to breaking cycles of poverty through long-term, systemic change. He is the driving force behind Beyond Housing’s “Once and for All” campaign, which takes a collaborative, region-wide approach to address the root causes of poverty and inequality. His work has earned him recognition as a respected voice in the fields of affordable housing, economic development, and social equity, and he continues to serve on multiple advisory boards and regional initiatives focused on building stronger, more inclusive communities.
