Zeekr officially entered Malaysia half a year ago with two EV models – the X SUV and the 009 luxo-MPV you see here in this mega gallery. The Alphard/Vellfire-fighter is off to a good start – 402 units have found Malaysian homes as of end-May, based on road transport department (JPJ) data, making it the third-best-selling EV MPV so far this year. I’m sure you’ve seen more than a handful prowling around the Klang Valley.
Three variants are currently available: the RM310k seven-seat Executive, the RM350k seven-seat Luxury and the RM360k six-seat Ultra Luxury featured here. The Executive has one front-mounted 340 PS/373 Nm electric motor while the rest have two motors for 612 PS/693 Nm in total, but because the battery is the same 116-kWh NMC unit, it’s the Executive that’s the range king, yielding 604 km WLTP.
Still, the upper two variants’ 582 km range is only a 22-km drop, and you get 80% more power, catapulting you to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. Max charging rates are 11 kW AC and 150 kW DC – the latter gets you from 10-80% in just half an hour.
In terms of kit, there’s actually not much separating the three variants – all get dual-chamber air suspension, the same 19-inch alloys, matrix LED headlamps, plus touch panels on the power-sliding doors for quick access to the door and climate controls.
Also standard across the range are full ADAS and seven airbags, powered front- and middle-row seats with massage and ventilation, Nappa upholstery, an 8.6-litre fridge, a panoramic sunroof, a 17-inch OLED ceiling monitor with remote control, a middle-row camera, and a lot more. This thing is properly loaded.
The only equipment differences between the variants are thus: the Executive doesn’t have soft-close front doors and a power-adjustable steering wheel, and the Ultra Luxury, being the only six-seater, has wider middle-row seats, so you can’t walk between them to get to the back row.
Up front you’ll find a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 15.05-inch OLED touchscreen, while the high centre console houses a 50W wireless charging pad. There’s also a 39.95-inch augmented reality-enabled head-up display, telematics with a companion app, and 30 Yamaha speakers.
The 009 is 5,209 mm long, 2,024 mm wide, 1,848 mm tall and has a 3,205 mm wheelbase, so it’s 200 mm longer, 174 mm wider and has a 205 mm longer wheelbase than the RM438k Vellfire and RM538k Alphard. Every 009 comes with a five-year/150,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000-km battery warranty and two years’ free connected services.
