Corvettes for Sale: Custom 1980 Corvette Coupe Offered on Cars and Bids

Combine some modern performance upgrades with beautiful classic styling, and you come up with this appealing 1980 Corvette custom.

Now being offered on the Cars&Bids auction site, this modded C3 has garnered a high bid of $4,200, with five days remaining.

The first thing you notice is the custom two-tone blue and cream paint job reminiscent of the original black and silver scheme that debuted with the ’78 Pace Car.

But there’s more to this car than just its appearance.

The owner has dramatically increased the performance with the addition of a 355 V8 BluePrintEngines crate motor said to crank out 414 horsepower and 374 lb-ft of torque at the wheels, according to a dyno sheet pictured in the gallery. With its four-speed manual transmission, it should be much more fun to drive than the stock 190-horsepower L48 350 most commonly matched to an automatic.

This one also now boasts of custom exhaust headers, side exhaust pipes, pipe shields, and a T grip Hurst transmission shift lever.

Other custom features include a chrome nose protector that I don’t think I’ve ever seen, along with Stingray and 355 emblems on the hood.

An aftermarket sound system has also been installed, along with four aftermarket speakers at the back of the cargo area.

Recent maintenance includes new Pitman arm, upper and lower control arm bushings, strut and spring bushings in October 2022, a new water pump in November 2022, new headlight vacuum canister at an unknown date, and an oil change last month.

Photos show some of the car’s paint flaws, along with wear on the seat bolsters and some rust on the undercarriage. We are also told that the air conditioning doesn’t work.

All in all, an example of a late C3 that is likely to draw a lot of attention on the road and at car shows. Do these mods earn your approval?
