Introduction
The 2022 Acura RDX is a premium compact SUV that balances value with features and performance. It’s not as luxurious as some in the class, but it’s still very nice, and it’s more affordable, too. The 2022 RDX marks the midpoint of the SUV’s third (and current) generation, launched in 2019. Compared to the 2021 RDX, the 2022 RDX received updated styling, safety equipment upgrades, new tech and features, and more.

KBB Review Highlights
You might not associate luxury vehicles with being value purchases. Still, the 2022 Acura RDX’s balance of features and price makes it an appealing option for those seeking something more than mainstream transportation. The 2022 RDX is fun to drive, too, with a peppy 272-horsepower turbocharged 4-cylinder. Available Super-Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) adds further dynamics and all-weather traction, and the Advance package adds an adaptive suspension that enhances both comfort and sportiness. The RDX’s cabin is comfortable and spacious — 38 inches of second-row legroom puts it near the top of its class, and there’s 29.5 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats. The standard 10.2-inch infotainment display and wireless smartphone integration (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) keep it feeling modern. Look for models equipped with the Technology package if you’re keen on wireless charging and LED ambient lighting.

The standard 2022 RDX comes with front-wheel drive (FWD), and these models, as well as those equipped with the optional all-wheel-drive system, are available with a choice of three packages: Technology, A-Spec, and Advance. A limited-production PMC Edition was also offered for 2022, but only 200 examples were built, making them unlikely discoveries in the CPO market. All 2022 RDX models use a 10-speed automatic transmission. If you’re in the market for a CPO or used RDX, consider the 2022 over the previous 2020 or 2021 models simply because of the value of the 2022 model-year updates mentioned above.
