[VIDEO] Corvette E-Ray and Z06 Run on Ozarks International Raceway

If you ever have wondered if the Corvette E-Ray is any good on the track, let me introduce you this video by Evan Grimmett. Evan has a 2025 Corvette E-Ray which he recently took to the Ozarks International Raceway in Gravois Mills, Missouri for an open track day.

The video clip is over 18 minutes of on-track racing action at Ozarks. This is our first time seeing this track, which just opened in 2022, and it features a 3.97 mile circuit with 19 corners and 1,200 feet of elevation changes over a single lap.

Making things even more interesting is watching the E-Ray try to keep pace with a C8 Corvette Z06 with Z07 and the Carbon Fiber Aero package that’s also on the track and just in front of the E-Ray throughout much of the video. Theoretically, on a large fast track like this, the Z06 should be running away from the E-Ray but that’s the great thing about track days as you’re running against others with different skill levels and experience. It appears to us that Evan is a more than capable driver, and the E-Ray does just fine on the track.

Like we learned during our track time at the Ron Fellows Performance Driving School, Evan keeps the E-Ray in Charge+ mode during his entire run. It may rob a little bit of horsepower on the straights but it keeps enough charge in the E-Ray’s battery to help pull the car out of the corners. With 19 turns on this track, having the AWD primed and ready definitely helps contribute to the great lap times.

One of the comments on YouTube made us chuckle. Joem7755 says “Excellent Run. Throw on cup2’s and get that z06!”

We couldn’t agree more!

From Evan Grimmett via YouTube:

Some great runs at Ozarks International Raceway between my 2025 Corvette E-Ray and my new friend Max’s C8 Corvette Z06 (with Z07 package). My car is bone stock running on Michelin PS4S tires and CCBs (carbon ceramic brakes), the Z06 has the Z07 (aero and stiffer suspension) package, carbon fiber wheels, Cup2R tires, and an aftermarket Alcon brake package.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the E-Ray does on track, running very close to what I did last year in my Z06, and keeping up with Max’s Z06 this year. Each cars had areas where they had an advantage, but overall neither of us was able to walk away from the other (we had run several laps with me in the lead just before the start of this video). The Z06 is still definitely the better track car if that’s your main use, but the E-Ray is very capable on track and is definitely better on the street.
