Fi EXHAUST Setup Guide: Choosing Between Single and Dual Front Mid Pipes on MPerformance or Classic Tip Layout
For the BMW G87 M2, we offer two exhaust tip layouts: the standard quad and the M Performance-style design. Each catback system can be paired with either a dual or single front-pipe setup, giving you flexibility in both sound and aesthetics.
The dual setup delivers a sharper, high-pitched tone with a more aggressive presence as its design is featuring our x-pipe, while the single setup offers a deeper, more resonant growlespecially noticeable at idle and below 4,000 RPM. Theres a subtle hint of rasp, which is characteristic of the S58 engine, but it remains far more refined compared to the harsher tone of a dual mid-pipe setup.
Each catback comes standard with silver tips, with the option to upgrade to one of four additional finishes to match your build.
Then we also offer our own remote control to close / open exhaust valves. For G8X models our recommendation would be to pair the remote with our catback exhaust setup.
We find the combination of our exhaust setup and remote to be the best solution for the G8X models. Because the way the stock valves work is that they modulate between 30-50% open and close when the exhaust sound button is activated. The system never allows for the valves to be fully open. However, with our remote you can bypass the stock system and force the valves to be fully open and close. We have demonstrated that in the video below.
And now were running a special promotion on all these setups: We’ve provided more details in this thread: Fi EXHAUST Sale: 1416% Off Single or Dual Front Pipe Systems
