The G90/G99 M5 Eventuri intake system was developed to provide an optimised airflow path to the turbos while minimising heat soak to maximise performance. We designed a sealed system to prevent the intake from drawing in heated air but balanced this requirement with the advantages of a dual air feed to reduce the overall pressure drop. The ducts take air from the OEM feeds and also feature secondary openings strategically positioned near the bonnet shuts. These openings tap into a consistently cold region of the engine bay, providing an additional source of cool air. In addition, these secondary openings also enhance the audibility of the turbos spooling within the cabin, adding an immersive dimension to your driving experience.
At the heart of the Eventuri G9x M5 intake lies our patented Venturi filter housings. This signature design ensures laminar airflow as the air transitions towards the turbo inlets. By reducing turbulence and optimising the flow path, the turbos operate with lower wastegate duty cycles. The combined effect of the patented housings and the dual air feed ducts results in improved performance and sharper throttle response, translating to quicker acceleration and a more engaging connection with the road.
DYNO TESTING
This intake has been independently dyno tested by MSL Perfomance. Tests were done back to back against the stock airbox and several runs were taken with each configuration. We took the best results from the stock airbox and the best from the Eventuri system. The dyno results show a consistent gain throughout the RPM range which can be attributed to the turbos reaching peak boost earlier and with a lower wastegate duty cycle due to the higher efficiency of the intake system. This gain is despite the dyno cell temperatures being higher for the Eventuri tests. The performance gain translates on the road to increased part throttle and full throttle response with the car pulling much more eagerly to the redline.
Matching oversized Turbo Inlets are to be launched soon too…
