The turning point in his story came not from a classroom or a career counselor, but from the quiet wisdom of his mother, Mama Esther. With unshakable faith and a deep intuition, she saw something in Adu that even he hadn’t yet discovered. When she nudged him toward agriculture as he entered high school, it seemed like an unconventional suggestion. But it was a seed planted in fertile ground. He took her advice and enrolled in an agricultural science program at Kumasi Senior High Technical School. It was here that his curiosity bloomed. The smell of the soil, the structure of farm routines, and the early lessons in animal husbandry began to ignite a passion that no office job ever could. He realized he wasn’t just learning about farming—he was beginning to see a life of purpose forming ahead of him. After high school, Adu pursued a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Education, Winneba. University life brought both academic challenges and unexpected blessings. One day, a friend handed him a rabbit as a gift. That rabbit turned out to be pregnant, and soon Adu found himself raising his first litter. What started as a simple gesture became a profound revelation. Nurturing those tiny creatures and watching life grow before his eyes gave him clarity: this was more than a hobby—it was a calling. What followed was a leap of faith. Adu stepped into the world of animal farming, embracing poultry as his focus due to its importance in food security and daily nutrition. He began small—just a few birds, a modest setup—but every early morning and late night fed his vision. Slowly but steadily, his efforts took shape. The poultry farm that once lived in his imagination grew into a thriving operation with a capacity of 12,000 birds, both layers and broilers. Today, his farm supplies fresh, high-quality poultry products year-round, feeding families and contributing to Ghana’s economic fabric.
But Adu’s story didn’t stop at personal success. He knew that real impact was measured by how many lives you uplift along the way. Driven by this belief, he founded Tanta Farms and Training Center—a place where passion meets purpose, and young people find their footing. He envisioned more than just a farm; he built a platform for transformation. Over 100 individuals have passed through his training programs, gaining hands-on experience and launching their own agricultural paths. Some have gone on to work with partner farms, while others have started ventures of their own, all sparked by the guidance they found under Adu’s mentorship.
His journey has not been without its storms. Accessing financing for agriculture in Ghana remains an uphill climb. Prices of feed swing unpredictably, essential equipment is often out of reach, and bureaucracy continues to slow down support systems. Yet, these challenges have only made him sharper, stronger, and more determined. For Adu, every setback was a lesson, every delay a test of endurance, and every success a reminder of why he started.

Adu dreams of transforming it into a fully-equipped training institution, capable of hosting hundreds of students each year. He envisions state-of-the-art workshops, on-site practicals, and certified programs that will shape the next generation of agricultural leaders—not just in Ghana, but across Africa. He wants to make farming not only attractive, but aspirational.
