Check out the boatload of NCRS Top Flight honors won by this very nice 1969 Corvette convertible just in the past four years.
As early C3s go, this one has all the right boxes checked, including the very powerful – and numbers-matching – 427/435 horsepower V8 engine with three two-barrel carbs under the hood.
Early in a Bring a Trailer auction, the high bid has already soared to $71,000, with five days to go.

Featuring a repaint in the original shade of Burgundy, this Stingray (as denoted by the emblems on the front fenders that debuted that year) is absolutely gorgeous, whether the white soft top is up, the black hardtop is in place, or the top is down showing off the complementary black interior.
After undergoing several years of serious restoration that ended in 2017 by the previous owner, the car has won four NCRS Top Flight awards, the most recent coming in October at the Lone Star Regionals in Texas. The ribbons, certificates and judging sheets will be included with the sale, along with a history write-up from the previous owner and the tank sticker confirming the L71 engine, G81 Positraction differential, M21 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission, and N14 side exhaust.

The restoration also included a new paint job after the body had been returned to its original state with the removal of aftermarket fender flares and rear spoiler panels. Earlier repairs had already been done on the right front fender and left rear quarter panel.
The big-block engine was rebuilt in 2017, with the installation of several parts, including JE Pistons forged, standard bore, 11:1 closed chamber pistons; cylinder sleeves; Sealed Power piston rings; Clevite rod and main bearings; ARP rod bolts; replacement valve guides, valves, springs, and keepers; nitrided hard-lifter camshaft; Clevite cam bearings; and piddle-valve lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, and freeze plugs.

What do you think is a fair price for this beautiful Stingray with the era’s most powerful engines?
