Movie merchandise tie-ins are normal. Specialty popcorn buckets shaped like Storm Trooper helmets. Happy Meal toys from animated movies. But to spend six figures on one, you have to really love a film.
Mercedes is betting that at least 52 people will love the upcoming Brad Pitt vehicle (pun intended) “F1” enough to drive it.
The brand will build just 52 copies of a special edition 2026 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupe built to commemorate the movie due out late next month.
About the Movie
In case you haven’t seen previews, the film features Pitt as a Formula 1 driver who comes out of retirement to help a new team and train a rookie driver played by Damson Idris break into the ranks of the world’s most glamorous racing league.
We can’t testify to the accuracy of a film we haven’t seen. But it has the potential to be one of the more authentic racing movies. Crews filmed the movie at real Formula 1 races, with today’s drivers playing background parts and Pitt’s fictional Apex Grand Prix team taking up real space in the paddocks with Mercedes, McLaren, and Red Bull. F1 legend Lewis Hamilton is a producer on the project.
About the Car
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 APXGP Edition six-figure Happy Meal toy “features numerous unique design elements and equipment details that closely mirror the design from the film’s fictional APXGP Formula 1 team,” Mercedes says.
Mercedes has not revealed pricing for the movie model, or for any 2026 AMT GT. The standard AMG GT starts $100,100, including delivery fees, in the 2025 model year.

Under the skin, it’s a conventional AMG GT 63, with a 577-horsepower hand-built biturbo V8 engine, Mercedes’ 4Matic all-wheel-drive (AWD) system, and the AMG Active Ride Control suspension with active roll stabilization.
But the skin is movie-inspired in black with gold accents, matching the livery of the fictional racing team. A black-and-gold checkered flag design fades in a subtle gradient extending from the front brake vents.
Matte Race Gold 21-inch cross-spoke wheels hide black brake calipers.

Inside, “The AMG Performance seats are upholstered in black Nappa leather/microfiber and customized with gold contrast stitching.” Trim elements in carbon fiber have gold-colored thread woven in.
Even the floor mats come with movie hints, with leather APXGP logos.
Each buyer will get a custom indoor car cover to keep their car pristine like a hard compound tire kept warm in the Pitts. Pits.
