When I read the press release for the new Aston Martin DBX S, I was astounded. Aston Martin proudly touted the carbon fibre roof, claiming it lowers the centre of gravity. But let’s be honest—a high-riding SUV will always have a high centre of gravity, and a carbon fibre roof isn’t going to change that in any meaningful way. It’s just a roof made of carbon fibre—a talking point. And if you genuinely believe it offers a significant improvement, I’m prepared to believe the Earth is flat.
Anyway, the Aston Martin DBX S—where the ‘S’ stands for a special high-performance version of the current model. But wait a second—doesn’t every model that rolls off the Aston Martin production line already qualify as high-performance and special? We’re not talking shitty Renault Clio levels of “special performance” here. This is Aston Martin. The Aston Martin.

All right, enough poking the British bear. Let’s get to the real question: What is the Aston Martin DBX S actually about?
The DBX S, More Luxury, More Power, Little Compromise
The DBX S, the latest and most powerful evolution of its performance SUV. Positioned as the new flagship in the DBX lineup, the DBX S brings increased performance, reduced weight, and exterior and interior design changes.

Under the hood, the DBX S boasts an upgraded 4.0-Litre Twin-Turbo V8 which produces 727PS and 900Nm of torque. An increase of 20PS. The result is a 0-62mph time of just 3.3 seconds and reduction in acceleration time from 0-124mph (200km/h) of 0.3 seconds. Top speed remains unchanged at an impressive 193mph.

The new model also offers lightweight options that trim up to 47kg compared to the continuing DBX707, ensuring better agility without compromising on luxury or presence.

Visually, the DBX S features a new front grille and a reimagined rear end give the SUV a distinctive, aggressive identity. Inside, the vehicle is adorned with exclusive ‘S’ styling details, including bespoke Alcantara and leather upholstery options.

The DBX S continues Aston Martin’s storied tradition of high-performance ‘S’ models, a lineage that dates back to the iconic DB3S of 1953.
