“Simon’s task is ensuring that every element of the customer’s journey is flawless – Simon’s extensive experience makes him the perfect fit to take on this new role.
“I’m also delighted to welcome Andy and Matt to the UK leadership team. Combined they bring almost 40 years of industry experience and knowledge, and I’m confident they will both play a significant part in BYD’s continued growth.”
Dolan brings over 20 years of experience in the automotive industry, having previously worked for Volvo Car UK as senior national used car & remarketing manager. He will be responsible for driving BYD’s continued sales growth, with a focus on the retail sector which makes up 40% of BYD’s sales.

BYD set a new sales record in the UK, selling 9,271 cars in Q1 alone – the company sold more cars in the most recent quarter than the whole of 2024 combined.
This has propelled BYD’s UK market share to 1.6%, from 0.45% in 2024.
