2025 Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo – Wagons still rule!

Porsche just updated their Taycan lineup. The cars now produce more power, have improved driving ranges, can charge up more quickly, and the driving experience and style of the things haven’t changed a bit. While I am saddened at the loss of gas-powered Porsche wagons, it’s great to see the longroof live on at all, and a Porsche Taycan GTS Sport Turismo remains a monstrous celebration of that ideal.

Let’s look at the power first. You’ve got 596 horsepower and 534 lb-ft of torque always at the ready. Press the button in the center of the drive-mode selector wheel, however, and now there’s 690 hp and 582 lb-ft of torque for a short burst. Before you hit that button, you can pass traffic easily. After you press it, you can pass people like you actively hate them.

But seeing as this electric wagon bears a Porsche badge, it’s not just about straight-line bursts. The Taycan is a joy to drive on pavement that twists, turns, and undulates as if it were a wandering mind sharing a symbiotic relationship with the hillside from which it adorns. Feel from the steering wheel is predictably Porsche, the active ride suspension system does an amazing job at keeping the car flat through corners, and the brakes are there when you need them.

Well, once you press through the initial dead zone where the regen happens. After that, the massive 16.5″ front rotors with their 10-piston calipers behave like proper boat anchors. These mega units are an optional extra, but well justified when you realize the sort of mass you’re trying to bring back down to suitable speeds.

Plus, at this point, if you’re buying a Porsche, you almost delight in how much you can add to it in a clearly masochistic manner. The brakes are an extra $9,000+ on a car that already starts north of $151k. The one version I drove in the video above? It’s inching up on $200k. A wild amount of money… but the car itself is damn near magical.
