Oscar Piastri notched up his third victory of 2025 with a close but controlled performance at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Starting from second on the grid, Piastri got a lightning start and challenged pole-sitter Max Verstappen into Turn One. Verstappen chose to fight for the position but ended up diving across the track after realising Piastri wasn’t going to yield the racing line. The unorthodox move earned Verstappen a five-second penalty — a decisive moment that ultimately cost him the race, despite having the pace to win.

In the end, it was Piastri’s cool head that prevailed over Verstappen’s attempt to once again exploit the grey areas of the rulebook in a bid to win on a technicality rather than through clean racing. Nevertheless, Oscar Piastri delivered a commanding drive to secure victory at the 2025 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, crossing the line 2.8 seconds clear of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.

Behind them, Charles Leclerc brought home Ferrari’s first podium of the season with a well-earned third place. Lando Norris pushed hard in the closing laps to challenge Leclerc but ultimately had to settle for fourth. Mercedes teammates George Russell and rookie Kimi Antonelli followed closely in fifth and sixth, with Lewis Hamilton adding more valuable points for Ferrari by finishing seventh.

Williams also enjoyed a standout weekend, claiming a double points finish. Carlos Sainz recorded his best result yet for the team in eighth, while Alex Albon fended off a late charge from Racing Bulls’ Isack Hadjar to secure ninth place.
