Broad Arrow Auctions, in partnership with Air|Water and Luftgekühlt, is excited to host their second all-Porsche Auction at the 2025 edition of Air|Water, the globally recognized Porsche enthusiast event, on 26 April in Costa Mesa, California. This must-attend auction will feature an elite selection of rare and standout examples from the renowned marque including, this 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup estimated at $225,000 – $250,000.

Every generation of Porsche’s one-make Cup cars are fondly remembered from the very beginnings of the concept that returned the Stuttgart brand to GT customer racing in the late 1980s. Naturally, with each successive generation, Porsche raises the bar. The 992-generation 911 GT3 Cup was introduced in 2021 as the seventh in a series dating back to the 1990s. The new car was not only faster and easier to drive but featured extended intervals for both the 510 horsepower flat-six and six-speed paddle shifted gearbox. Porsche, once again, had a racing sales success on their hands, finding customers from professional race teams to those looking to enjoy a more aggressive 911 at track days and high performance driving events.

The DMSB Wagenpass for this chassis reveals it was campaigned by Allied-Racing as part of a two car team during 2021 Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland season. At the wheel of race number 25 was Rudolf Rhyn from Switzerland, making the step up from a 718 Cayman GT4 Club Sport fielded by Phoenix Racing the previous season. Rhyn’s results were consistent, finishing 18th in the championship battle and perhaps most impressive, finishing every race on challenging tracks like Spa, Monza, and Zandvoort without suffering a single DNF.

By 2022 the GT3 Cup was imported to the United States by Heinlein Racing Development (HRD) and, at the time, noted to have 60 hours on the engine and a freshly rebuilt gearbox by Allied-Racing before leaving Germany. HRD sold the car that year to an individual who used the car in PCA high performance driving events and track days. Under their ownership the car received maintenance from HRD and Precision Motorsports (PMR). Notable servicing included a transmission refresh conducted in September 2023 by Bill Rader Motorsports in Las Vegas, front brake pads and discs and rear pads replaced in July 2024, and new drive shafts and bearings replaced by PMR August 2024 after an event at Watkins Glen. In late 2024 the GT3 Cup was acquired by the consignor and has since been used for several track day events, while being supported by Air Power Racing of South Salt Lake, Utah.

With no new 911 GT3 Cups in production for 2025, this example with European race history offers not only compelling speed and the thrill of competition, but regular care and maintenance as well. Currently showing fewer than 8,000 kms, the digital odometer records that the current hours on the flat-six are about 50. Porsche notes that a maintenance check of the flat-six at 100 hours is recommended and “minor inspection” of the gearbox needed after 60 hours. Perhaps Porsche says it best, “It’s made for young focused talents starting their careers as well as experienced professionals who are fighting for places on podiums. And yet, enthusiastic classic drivers will still find it easy to handle.” Succinctly put, the 911 GT3 Cup is a car suitable for nearly everyone ready to answer the call of the racetrack.
