A mysterious Urus has been spied on the Nurburgring, sporting an assortment of changes

- Lamborghini appears to be working on a facelifted Urus, which could be introduced next year.
- The prototype features a new front fascia, a revised hood, and restyled headlights.
- We can expect a plug-in hybrid powertrain that features a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8.
The Lamborghini Urus burst onto the scene in 2017 and received an extensive update in 2024. The latter ushered in a plug-in hybrid powertrain as well as updated styling and a freshened interior.
Fast forward to today and it appears the popular crossover could be getting a second update. While that remains to be seen, spy photographers recently caught a mysterious prototype undergoing testing on the Nürburgring.

The changes are pretty extensive as we can see a new hood and slimmer headlights with revised daytime running lights. They’re joined by a revamped front end, which features chunkier horizontal bars as well as extended angular accents that now connect to the upper fascia. Designers also created a new central intake, which is an evolution of the one found on the current Urus Performante.
The rear end largely carries over and echoes the aforementioned variant. However, it looks like the crossover has been equipped with a larger spoiler and a redesigned bumper. The latter features new angular accents at the outside edges, near the reflectors.

Little else is known about the model at this point, but it features a plug-in hybrid powertrain judging by the warning stickers. In the Urus SE, it consists of a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine, a 25.9 kWh battery pack, and an electric motor. This enables the model to produce 789 hp (588 kW / 800 PS) and travel more than 37 miles (60 km) on electricity alone.
While the prototype could be the next evolution of the Urus SE, it’s also possible that Lamborghini is expanding the plug-in hybrid lineup. The current Urus S and Urus Performante eschew the tech, so it’s possible they could get it with the latest refresh.
