Rory secures his Grand Slam title at the 2025 Masters.
With an impressive 15-year career as a top-ranked PGA professional, Rory McIlroy has encountered almost every high-pressure situation on a golf course. And among his 29 career wins, including first-place finishes at the U.S. Open (2011), PGA Championship (2012,2014), and The Open (2014), the Masters remained the final tournament to stand in the way of Rory’s career Grand Slam. This year’s 2025 Masters will go down as one of the most dramatic and historical yet, ending up in a missed short putt-turned-prevailing overtime victory. The emotional celebration on the 18th hole included a sincere congratulations from Justin Rose and both caddies before being greeted by his wife Erica and 4-year-old daughter Poppy.
After winning the round and clinching his first Masters victory, Rory’s celebration continued during the 2025 Green Jacket Ceremony. In addition to receiving the coveted Green Jacket on the iconic Augusta National Golf Course from 2024 winner Scottie Scheffler, McIlroy also accepted the legendary Masters trophy that resembles its clubhouse. But what was even more impressive than his big win was his choice of watch for the ceremony, an OMEGA Speedmaster “Silver Snoopy Award” 50th Anniversary. In a setting where you find countless Rolex, Audemars Piguet, and Richard Mille models, OMEGA’s icon came out on top once again.
The limited-edition Speedmaster variant celebrates 50 years since NASA awarded OMEGA the Silver Snoopy Award for its contributions to space exploration. The 42mm stainless steel watch features a dark blue tachymeter and a matching white dial design that incorporates astronaut Snoopy into one of its three subdials. The hidden easter eggs continue onto the backcase, where a sapphire crystal has been decorated with the far side of the moon and a rotating rocket piloted by Snoopy. From the surface to the moon to the final green at the 2025 Masters, the OMEGA Speedmaster prevails as one of the most legendary watches with a growing story.
