Shown alongside the Porsche 911 Carrera facelift at the Porsche Malaysia 15th anniversary showcase in Kuala Lumpur is the Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé, and this comes after the locally assembled (CKD) plug-in hybrid SUV saw its market launch in January this year.
The Porsche Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé has the distinction of being the first Porsche PHEV to be produced at the Sime Motors facility in Kulim, Kedah as well as being the first Malaysian-assembled Porsche to be exported to Thailand, in addition to being the second CKD Porsche model to go on sale in Malaysia after the Cayenne.
Starting at RM728,000 inclusive of taxes and duties, excluding on-the-road fees, any options and insurance, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé packs a PHEV powertrain that is comprised of a 3.0 litre turbocharged petrol V6 engine that produces 353 PS and 500 Nm of torque on its own.
Combined with an electric motor rated to make 176 PS and 460 Nm for a combined output of 519 PS and 750 Nm, this powertrain propels the coupé-SUV from 0-100 km/h in 4.7 seconds, onwards to a top speed of 263 km/h.
The battery is rated for a gross energy capacity of 25.9 kWh (21.8 kWh nett), providing the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé with an EV range of up to 90 km on the WLTP testing standard.
Rolling stock for for the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé is a set of 20-inch Cayenne S Design alloy wheels in Vesuvius Grey, here shod in Hankook Ventus S1 evo Z tyres measuring 255/55ZR20 in front and 295/45ZR20 at the rear. This also gets adaptive air suspension that includes Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) with two-chamber, two-valve technology as standard.
For the exterior, the Cayenne S E-Hybrid Coupé can be specified in Carrara White Metallic, Chromite Black Metallic and Dolomite Silver Metallic.
Inside, cabin upholstery can be specified in either black or Bordeaux Red, while the seats get Porsche crests on the headrests. For infotainment, a 12.6-inch curved instrument cluster display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen with Porsche Communication Management (PCM) features here.
Also on the equipment list are high-definition matrix LED headlamps (32,000 pixels per side), a GT Sports steering wheel, the Sport Chrono package (includes a Porsche Design clock on the dashboard), a premium Bose surround sound system, four-zone climate control with an ioniser, 14-way powered front comfort seats with memory function, and electric roll-up sunshades for the rear side windows.
