actually I believe that. I also did willingly buy the car with it needing TLC.
But the more I drive the car, and even worse, much much worse. Take a look into the engine bay. It’s very clear that this was a learner car and was rallied with. My only assumption would be a guy who got a hold of his girlfriend’s car… unless I truly was bamboozled from a seller who runs a high rated boat dealership in CT. With that said. I’m putting money on a guy wanting to turn his girls car into a toy. Could be wrong.
the wiring harness on the cam cover has been chewed up by screw drivers and clearly yanking to hard.
The turbo doesn’t kick in at all and have yet to figure it out. It has a boost gauge installed and will hit 10 PSI but only for a moment and only when it’s put under extreme duty (pulling forth gear on the highway to get the hell out the way, etc etc)
will not build boost in first or second. Period. I know boost is limited in first and second and you need at the minimal the PoleStar tune to remove boost restrictions in first and second.
coolant leak turns out so far to be a completely embarrassing attempt at reconnecting the thermostat housing. How this learner even got as far as getting to the thermostat housing is beyond me.
help as to what else needs to be eliminated for suspicious coolant leaks is needed. I keep hearing about how Volvo cheaped out with a bit to much plastic with hoses and tanks sadly on this one
the oil leak is coming from three visible locations so far. The oil filter housing, the turbo and the cam cover is building up oil around the seals. I have not run a compression/leak down test and seriously hope I will never have to do a borescope. These cars come tuned @225hp and it takes theoretically at least 300hp (evidence from S60R/V70R owners from running stock tunes waaaay to hard without even a 3” down pipe to alleviate back pressure is out there) That even if it was tuned. It’s a US car and reaching 300hp with a K04, even if possible without more mods, is unlikely. But than again, horse **** drivers do exist who blow up even fresh factory cars by doing some of the dumbest **** is out there on YouTube.
both driveshafts vibrate and the front end, although thank god there isn’t any bent chassis, was not installed right. It’s as if some plastic buttons or plastic bumper holders snapped and it does look like it got comically punched in the face cartoon style. My only assumption and it’s an assumption is that rally dude took his girlfriend’s car out and hit a ditch. There aren’t any crumple lines at all. And I wonder if this explains he both drive shafts have failed, Nevermind the mileage.
There’s more to it but I need some help to tackle a stage 0 plus rehabilitation. The C30 M66 is worth a rescue but I fear that there are a pile up of little issues that I’ll either figure out as I drive or have to ask a group like this for advice based on your own experiences.
In conclusion. Anything. And I mean anything that is out of the ordinary that wouldn’t be on a normal stage zero tune. Please share your experiences, concerns or insights
