If you’re looking for yet another reason to buy a mid-engine C8 Corvette, here’s the latest.

The Corvette just took first place – again – in the 23rd annual Kelley Blue Book 2025 Best Resale Value Awards in the Sports Car category, for the sixth consecutive year.

Chevy’s sports car also was a member of the “2025 Best Resale Value: Top 10 Cars” division of the awards, joining the likes of the Ford Bronco, Honda CR-V, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Porsche 911, and five Toyota models to represent “the best of the best” while also beating out hundreds of other vehicles.

The strong resale value comes as no surprise to Corvette enthusiasts as they’ve watched the eighth-generation models dominate the marketplace since being introduced in the 2020 model year. Not surprisingly, the Corvette has been honored by KBB for its resale value in 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and now 2025; interestingly, the last time it did not earn that honor was for the last year of the front-engine C7 in 2019.

2025 Best Resale Value Award

Being chosen for this year’s Top 10 Cars list denotes that the Corvette retains its value better than 95 percent of all available 2025 model-year vehicles after five years of ownership, according to KBB. Their analysis shows the 2025 Corvette will likely retain 61 percent of its original sticker price in five years – good for second place in the rankings behind only the 64.1 percent of the 2025 Toyota Tacoma.

KBB bases the award on five years of ownership and 75,000 miles of driving, determining likely resale value based on multiple factors and data from millions of previous vehicles and transaction, including quality and build, level of likely interest from buyers in the future, past performance of similar models, and general market trends.

“Many new-car buyers do not realize that depreciation often is the greatest expense incurred by drivers during the first five years of vehicle ownership,” KBB says.
