The fifth season of the Porsche Carrera Cup North America commenced at Sebring International Raceway, coinciding with the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring. The event featured two 40-minute races with participation from 31 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (992) vehicles across three classes: Pro, Pro-Am, and Masters. Riley Dickinson, JP Martinez, and Scott Blind emerged victorious in their respective categories, establishing early leads in the championship standings.
In the first race, held on March 13, 2025, Riley Dickinson, the reigning series champion, dominated from the outset. Driving the No. 91 Kellymoss Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, he led the race from pole position, finishing with a margin of 5.623 seconds over Ryan Yardley from New Zealand. The competition for the remaining podium spots was intense, with Zachary Vanier initially moving from fifth to second but later losing his position due to power-steering issues. Jimmy Llibre, starting from eighth, capitalized on Vanier’s difficulties to secure his second career podium finish.
In the Pro-Am class, JP Martinez led from the front in his No. 4 ACI Motorsports Porsche 911 GT3 Cup, successfully fending off Alan Metni’s challenge on the final lap to achieve his first Carrera Cup victory. Scott Blind maintained a commanding lead in the Masters class, securing his third career win in the No. 45 Ruckus Racing Porsche 911 GT3 Cup.
The second race on March 14, 2025, mirrored the first, with Dickinson again taking the lead at the start. Despite a competitive field, he managed to pull away from Yardley, ultimately winning by 5.747 seconds. Yardley finished second for the second consecutive day, followed by Vanier. In the Pro-Am class, Martinez extended his lead while Metni and Marco Cirone battled for second place, allowing Martinez to secure another victory. Blind continued his success in the Masters class, achieving his second consecutive win.
Throughout the weekend, the competition demonstrated a level of parity among teams, with various drivers from different teams finishing in the top five across both races. Notably, Scott Blind also achieved victories in other Porsche series earlier in March, showcasing his versatility and skill.
Madeline Stewart’s participation was cut short due to an incident during qualifying, resulting in damage to her vehicle that could not be repaired in time for the races. She is expected to return for the next round in Miami.
The races were broadcast live on multiple platforms, including IMSA and Porsche Motorsport North America’s YouTube channels. The next event in the series is scheduled for May 2-4 at the Miami International Autodrome.
