Marshall Motor to close two Volkswagen and four Peugeot dealershipsMarshall Motor is pushing ahead with the closure of two Volkswagen and four Peugeot dealerships.

The dealer group which is owned by Constellation Automotive Group is not commenting on the closures. The Volkswagen dealerships set for closure are in Horsham and Aylesbury.

In holding statement Volkswagen said:  “We, along with the whole motor industry, are moving through a period of unprecedented change, prompted by new technologies and changing customer expectations.

“The necessary evolution of the Volkswagen Group UK retailer network, to ensure that we have appropriate representation to meet our customers’ future needs, is a process that has been under way for a couple of years already and will continue into the future.

“We can confirm in this case that Volkswagen Marshall Motor Group’s sites in Horsham and Aylesbury will be closing from the end of next month.

“Marshall Motor Group will be writing to its customers to advise them of alternative sales, service and parts facilities. Due to legal requirements and confidentiality agreements, we cannot provide further details.”

Marshall also has Volkswagen dealerships in Barnstaple, Coulsdon, Gatwick, Harlow, Letchworth, Loughton, Milton Keynes, Newbury, Oxford (Kidlington), Reading, Scunthorpe, South Oxford (Milton Gate), St Albans & Taunton but these are not impacted

Volkswagen said: “All other branches remain operational, and their details will be included in the aforementioned correspondence from the Marshall’s team.”

On the Stellantis side Constellation is closing Peugeot dealerships in Canterbury and Ashford and Peugeot and Vauxhall dealerships in Peterborough.

In a statement Stellantis said: “Stellantis UK confirms that, by mutual agreement, the retailer contracts with Marshall Vauxhall Peterborough, Peugeot Peterborough, Peugeot Ashford and Peugeot Canterbury have ended at all four sites and they will cease representing our brands at the end of March.

“We are working closely with each site to ensure that there is minimum disruption to customer’s new vehicle orders and after-sales support.”
