US auction house Mecum is selling a golf cart that looks like a miniature electric Mercedes G-Class built by the Chinese Bodo at its March 21, 2025 auction in Glendale, Arizona.

Mercedes is planning a compact G-Class for 2026 but what you see in the images below is not the future compact G-Class but a mini G-Class built by the Chinese manufacturer Bodo. Founded in 1997, Wuxi Bodo Electric Vehicle has four plants with a production capacity of 3 million vehicles in Tianjin, Wuxi, Guangzhou, and Taizhou. The Chinese build electric bicycles, scooters, tricycles, golf carts, and electric cars.

The Chinese don’t give any details about the size of this mini G-Class, which has the functionality of a golf cart. That’s why the Bodo G-Class is much smaller than a Suzuki Jimny because a golf cart is less than 2.5 meters long. But it has four doors and four seats and the interior is very luxurious.

The Bodo G-Class has a rear-seat infotainment system with screens mounted in the front seat headrests, power windows, heating and air conditioning, reversing camera, central locking, turn signals, and a caramel-orange upholstery.

Propulsion is provided by an electric motor located at the rear axle while the power electronics is placed under the front hood. The 15 kW/20 PS electric motor doesn’t allow a top speed of more than 56 km/h, but the range of 130 km is more than enough for a golf cart, provided by a 10 kWh Li-Ion battery.

The rear-wheel drive should be sufficient for most golf courses and the Bodo G-Class can be driven easily and safely as it has power steering and disc brakes on all four wheels.

Auction house Mecum notes that over the past decade demand for exclusive and luxurious golf carts has been on the rise. Such a new model costs $21,900 but the auction house doesn’t announce a starting bid price for this 2024 manufactured model.

For such a toy, the price is very high despite the luxurious equipment. But then again, it’s not every day you see a miniature G-Class on a golf course. You have to admit that the Chinese have managed to faithfully reproduce the boxy silhouette of the original G-Class and the main characteristic elements such as the hood-mounted turn signals, silver side air intakes, round headlights, rectangular wheel arches, and massive exterior door handles.
