It really is happening, then: after seven years on sale – transforming the world of mid-engined sports cars in the process – the Alpine A110 is in its final 12 months. 2025 may mark 70 years since Jean Rédélé created Alpine, and therefore this is a year of celebration to some extent, but it also marks the last full calendar year of petrol-powered A110s. It will go off sale in 2026, with the electric version – the final piece of Alpine’s Dream Garage puzzle, alongside the A290 and A390 – arriving not long after.
Not a small moment by any stretch, and for its final year on sale in the UK the Alpine A110 range comprises three models, two of them new: the entry-level £55k A110, with the familiar 252hp, then an A110 GTS and A110 R 70. The former, as you might have guessed, replaces the GT and the S as one bonus bundle of them both; it combines a 300hp version of the 1.8-litre turbo with the S chassis but ‘the everyday comfort of the A110 GT’. There are also R-inspired racy bits available on the extras list, including an aerokit of splitter, skirts and spoilers as well as ‘GT Race’ 18s on Michelin Cup 2s. There’s a new ‘GTS Grey’ leather interior, plus optional race seats.
Perhaps most interesting for the GTS, though – because plenty of that stuff ranks as familiar by now – is the introduction of five new Alpine colours for it. Peacock Blue and Acropolis Orange are heritage hues, joined on the palette by Steel Grey, Eclipse Blue and Solar Orange, all three of which are matt. The GTS is priced from £67,311.

Just in case the A110 R 70’s anniversary edition status wasn’t clear enough, just 770 of them will be made globally. Of those, a French tricolour series of 70 units each will also be offered, with the same number of Glacier White, Caddy Blue and Seismic Red – as per Jean’s first A106s from 1955 – getting a 70-years-of-Alpine logo on the roof. You’ve probably noticed by now. Besides the French fancy versions, the A110 R 70 will be sold in 10 colours, which will be great news to those uninspired by the original R line-up – even without Alpine telling us what the paints are. Seemingly borrowing a little from the approach employed for the Ultime, there’s a good amount of personalisation possibilities for the 70, including seven colours for the Brembo calipers and four ‘interior design schemes’ from Alpine’s Atelier customisation programme.
A lot else is familiar from the standard A110 R; no bad thing given what a mid-engined masterclass it’s always been. So there’s carbon absolutely everywhere, standard Michelin Cup 2s, an Akrapovic exhaust and carbon wheels. New 70th anniversary logos and a plaque show off its special status. Which has been deemed special enough for a £103,345 price tag to be slapped on the A110 R 70 for UK customers.
CEO Philippe Krief said: “Alpine turns 70! 70 years of passion, excellence and innovation that we intend to build on for the next 70 years. We will celebrate this anniversary throughout the year with all our customers, clubs, fans … past, present and future. To mark the occasion, our iconic A110 is available as an exceptional limited edition, the A110 R 70. It is part of the new A110 range, which will be available for the next 12 months before passing the baton to the future electric A110.” So time really is running out. Orders will be open from early March – form an orderly queue. But maybe elbow your way to the front…
