You Can Own Prodrive’s Ultra-Rare 22B-Inspired Restomod

You Can Own Prodrive’s Ultra-Rare 22B-Inspired Restomod

Back in 2022 Prodrive, the UK race shop responsible for building some of the greatest Subaru rally cars, announced it would build a limited run of Impreza restomods inspired by the iconic 22B. Unsurprisingly, all 25 build slots sold immediately, leaving prospective buyers hanging. Now, there’s one up for grabs on the secondhand market.

Bonhams is offering this P25, the 10th example built, for sale via its online auction platform. It’s covered just 190 miles since new, and it’s the only P25 painted in silver. Like all P25s, this one gets a blueprinted version of Subaru’s iconic EJ25 boxer-four, equipped with new internals and a Garrett turbocharger to make 444 horsepower and 487 pound-feet of torque.

Getting power to all four wheels is a six-speed sequential from X-Shift, controlled by a singular paddle mounted to the right of the steering wheel. There’s also an electronic center differential that can be adjusted by the driver. Throw in the standard anti-lag and WRC-style launch control, and the P25 can sprint to 60 miles per hour in just 2.8 seconds.

Most of the P25’s body panels are made from carbon. On this example, the roof, hood scoop, rear wing, and side mirrors remain unpainted, showing off the weave pattern to the world. The cabin is a thoroughly modern space, covered in leather and lots of Alcantara. There are also two screens—one for the digital gauge cluster, and another for infotainment.

Bonhams expects this P25 to sell between £475,000 and £575,000 (around $600,000 to $725,000). While that’s an obscene amount of money for an Impreza from the 1990s, we’re not entirely surprised with the estimate, given these cars were priced from $600,000 when new. And with just 190 miles on the clock, this one hasn’t even been broken in yet.

Hopefully the next owner drives this P25 how it was meant to be driven.
