since it’s my first post at the very beginning I’d like to say hello to all of you. It’s nice to join this community
I’ve own my XC90 (’21yr) last year as a used vehicle, but it was demo car from one of the polish dealerships, so I was sure about that car (I bought special inspection to test the care before buy). After 2 months from buying I found some noise from the panoramic sunroof. It was like squeaking sealing from top glass or something that was making noise from the tensions while driving. But after few miles I’ve reached the city streets where top speed limit is like a 30 mph and this weird noise has gone away. I thought it was one time action, so I didn’t take any further steps with taking my car to the dealer. Now I know it was not a single time that this problem appear…It is coming back regularly when I’m taking a ride outside the cite and driving from 55-70 mph with taking some turns down the road. It might be connected with some weather changing and that might cause mentioned tensions that are starting to be audible while driving with some higher speed and car acquires vibrations from the asphalt road surface and faster momentum.
Of course I’ve took it to the dealer after couple of months where I’ve observed that this is not something which will go away. Dealer told me that mechanics have took a test ride and didn’t notice any rattles from the sunroof. And I’m not surprised, since they probably were driving from lights crossing to another not even reaching 30 mph… I was also told that they screwed harder some of the 6 Torx that this panoramic panel is mounted to the car. It didn’t help for the longer term. Sound has come back and I’m still in the same point. Does any one has some clue or advice what may cause that problem? I made some recording of this sound:
And what I found is that when I press on mentioned panel the sound doesn’t appear (but please remember that dealer told me after last service about mounting the screws harder, so the panel should be already tighter and still sound comes back):

I’ve even see on this forum there are many posts about rattling from the sunroof, so It seems like a construction problem from the manufacture.
I really like the car. I like how it drives and how it accelerate (I’m owning T8 plugin engine). But I bought this car mostly for outside city rides, because I work from home and from time to time I’m taking trips where I’m driving on highways and road like that, so It becomes very annoying when my car makes such a sound and I have to listen to the music very loud to don’t go nuts (even if it’s B&W which sounds amazing).
