“If you think your tires are enough to tackle the ice… we drive with the winter tire pros and reveal the top Bridgestone Tire secrets! THINK ABOUT IT AGAIN. Every year, thousands of drivers lose control on icy roads due to a simple mistake: relying on tires that are NOT made for these conditions. Today we’re going to put the Bridgestone different tires to the test in ice and snow, and I’m going to show you the REAL difference between control and disaster.

I attended the Bridgestone Winter Driving School in Steamboat Springs, Colorado to test winter tires and see for myself how winter tires make a huge difference in your safety on the roads. The school teaches drivers from teens, seniors to pros about proper car control when roads are covered in snow and ice. We tested the newest Bridgestone Winter Tires, the new Blizzak 6 with patented Multicell technology offers shorter stopping distances, impressive traction and car control. And the Bridgestone Dueller Assent which has been rated the best in class for full size SUVs and trucks. Winter tires make the most sense if you drive in snow at least three times a year – personally – I purchased Blizzak’s for my SUV. I’ve been impressed with the performance in Buffalo winters.

Most people are not aware of the difference in each type of tire.

Winter – A winter tire will maximum grip in winter conditions for best traction. There is a Three Peak Rating, which is three mountains on the side of the tire. This is the ultimate winter tire.

Summer – Summer tires are the exact opposite and are designed for heat resistance, maximum traction and performance driving.

All-season – All season tire are not great at any climate but good for most. These tires provide mild winter driving ability, long wear and ride. Overall all season tires are “Good at everything but not the greatest at everything”.

Bridgestone winter driving school. Founded in 1983, in Colorado. It’s held at a ski resort and open to consumers. Learning the difference in tires and why it keeps you safer on the road in snow and winter. The school should be a requirement for drivers and it translates to better dry pavement driving, awareness and safety. Programs for teens to seniors, fleet drivers, racers and truckers. Everything at the school is based on grip and traction. Perfect grip can be lost with excessive braking, acceleration and steering. The art of driving in the winter can be a life saving skill.
