While modern-day supercars and hypercars showcase the evolution of automotive engineering, some cars cement themselves as timeless icons and perfectly embody an unmatched era of motoring. The Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR checks off all those boxes, representing a period in time when the brand homologated the GT1 sports car in conjunction with its then motorsport partner AMG. Today, with only a total of 28 CLK GTR examples (20 coupes, six roadsters, and two prototypes), they only quietly exchange ownership in the realm of eight figures. With one of the most impressive car collections in the world, the guys at Fastrrr LLC (@fastrrr_llc) recently took out its extremely rare Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster for a quick-spirited drive along with some other special guests.
Having a dream lineup of cars at its disposal, the Fastrrr garage is filled with incredible examples that include an Apollo IE, Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, Pagani Huayra R, Pagani Zonda Revolution, Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 Spyder, McLaren P1 GTR, McLaren Senna GTR, and so many more. The morning kicked off with a small meetup after making an appearance at a local car event, choosing the Chiron Pur Sport as the CLK GTR Roadster’s road companion. In addition, Tyler The Creator joined in on the impromptu cruise with his white Ferrari LaFerrari and custom E30 BMW M3. Some quick sprints through the fog on a chilly California morning showcased the CLK GTR’s sequential, paddle-activated manual transmission and straight-cut gears.
Back at the collection, Devon of Fastrrr goes through the ins and outs of the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster while removing its body panels to expose its motorsport-inspired construction. As for future plans with the almost priceless supercar, the guys are receiving factory European mufflers from the original owner to help beef up its quiet exhaust note. Fastrrr LLC also plans on sharing its Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR Roadster with the world by taking it to future events.
