The Honda Civic FE has over 80% of the non-national C-segment sedan pie to itself, so it’s clearly a very desirable product (people buy sedans for more selfish reasons than SUVs, and it’s probably more skewed towards guys) already. As with most successful formulas, just a tweak or two, plus some new features to keep it abreast tech-wise would be enough.

That’s the case for the 2025 Honda Civic facelift that was launched yesterday – the sedan gets a new fascia (easily distinguishable from the pre-facelift), some new tech and extra features for, plus minus, the same price. The base E is RM2,000 pricier at RM133,900 but the RS petrol is RM2,000 cheaper at RM149,900. The V (RM144,900) and RS hybrid (RM167,900) have unchanged RRPs.

The facelift consists of a new bumper with a more protruding ‘mouth’ flanked by slim vertical air curtains in place of the previous fog lamp cutouts. The grille is larger than before so there’s no more big forehead, and the space is covered with a honeycomb mesh. The rear gets ‘smoked’ tail lamps.

Inside, the 9.0-inch factory touchscreen head unit is now standard across the range and it includes Google Built-in, which means that Google services such as Maps, Assistant and the Play Store are integrated, and you can summon it with OK Google. There’s now wireless Android Auto (only Apple CarPlay was wireless before) and all variants get the Honda Connect telematics system and solar/security window film. The biggest winner is the base E.

Honda Sensing is also standard for all Civics, and the driver assist pack gets some updates here. Forward Collision Warning (FCW) gains bicycle and pedestrian detection while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC, with Low Speed Follow) comes with smoother braking and acceleration. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) has a more linear form of operation for less jarring steering assistance, Honda says.

Finally, there’s a new colour in Canyon River Blue Metallic, which replaces Lunar Silver Metallic in the list. Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl and Ignite Red Metallic are all popular and have been retained. The new blue is the same hue seen on the CR-V.
