This trend is to ‘buy’ and ‘accept’ a completely and totally flawed product, then come onto this Forum, list the complaints and ask what to do while fiercely claiming to be a “Volvo Lover.” Oh how they “Love the Seats and the cool colors:” but the car does not operate properly. For anyone wishing to see what I mean, simply read the latest thread by a fellow named jgentry.
The posting is called: “My list of issues after 500 miles of ownership.” The list of problems is MIND BOGGLING beyond belief and one cannot understand why the fellow would ever drive a NEW car with so many defects, many of which are safety issues possibly putting other driver’s at risk. This type of behavior must not be supported by this Forum. No excuses should be made for anyone who is too ignorant to understand that driving a defective new car is NOT in any way the thing to do.Simple research will reveal that 3 examples prove my points in spades: Tesla, Nissan Leaf, BYD. None of these cars have ever had the myriad of issues that this fellow faced in his “first 500 miles.” We all must stand up to the rotten people at Volvo who not only allowed this to happen but also to the dealer network who is supporting this scam. There is NO EXCUSE for Volvo releasing cars with such serious problems any more than there is an excuse for jgentry driving the car more than 50 miles or so before taking it back and filing a Class Action law suit against Volvo. I for one am just completely Numbed by reading all the problems he is having and if one of my customers brought their car into my shop with even 50% of those problems I would tell them to head to the nearest law firm and get real. There has been a trend over the last 4-5 years on this forum to hear from folks who have serious Volvo problems with their cars but don’t take a stand for honesty and truth and instead like to rake the forum for “Sympathy” and answers. There are many many brands of cars being sold that DO NOT come from the factory with myriad problems and continual software updates (“don’t worry new Volvo owner, the next update will fix your frozen electric windows and allow you to close them”) I can verify this because I help my customers pick and buy their next car and so I see the results. Few problems? Subaru, Toyota, BMW. And many others. I am hoping that A LOT of folks read this post and get very angry at Volvo and their dealerships when they get a lemon. And not waste any time poking at my complaint since this entire issue sits directly in the lap of the Chinese company that owns Volvo, Gheely. When bought out, Volvo lost any chance of being the interesting, individual auto maker and is now being run by poorly educated workers and unsophisticated management. Just witness the sloppy poorly written code that is supposed to run the car. Untested and dangerous but still being sold.
