This is year 2 of my update on my 2023 Volvo XC90 who I affectionately call Inga! 😂😂. I just turned 19,000 miles and here is the good and the bad:

1. I continue to be impressed with my mileage. I normally get about 26 MPG but on highway drives I routinely get as much as 31 mpg! Very cost effective compared to many SUV’s.
2. Took 2 trips this year – one of about 750 miles that had 5 people and luggage with a 6th person occasionally riding with us. Many those3rd row seats are jammed when you have luggage and other items but we made it work. My wife sat back there and got claustrophobic but it beat buying plane tickets. Man we had Inga loaded down! My son in law drove and loved it! My second trip was in October to the beaches in North Carolina and Inga was perfect! I still have sand in her which I need to clean out.
3. I am at 3.3.16 software. The upgrades have been flawless. The phone app is weak. I twice had to completely log back into it this year – once I almost went to the dealer because it would not pair with my car. I work in IT and I was like WTF. It’s all good now – it seems with the last release it’s more tailored to my car and it does track and log very well (I know where my wife goes now) and I still love remote start. I go to basketball games and will start the car from about a half mile away.
4. The seats are just a dream. I have sciatic and with the heat it actually helps my back. Buy this car just for the seats!
5. The bad? One main item. I had a “Rock chip” hit one of my sensors and it was $600 to replace and took a week to get the part in. They gave me a loaner that I used for everything so I got my moneys worth but damn – I was like is this going to happen all the time?
6. I have. A squeak in the back that’s a bit annoying but I am too lazy to figure it out.
7. For you awesome DIY guys – I made my own winshield Washer fluid so there! Saved some money!
8. My wife picked up a nail – fixed by discount tire – bought the tire warranty as now all 4 tires are warranted for 65K miles – cost $320. We will see what happens.

I still love my car and we will see what happens in 2025. If you are looking to buy a nice SUV that has room and luxury I still think the Volvo XC90 is the best on the market.
