Check out this chrome-bumper 1969 Corvette convertible that’s a throwback to the original 300 ‘Vettes that were all done in white over red.
This second-year C3 Stingray is being offered through the end of 2024 on Bring a Trailer, where the current bid is $12,000.
That figure is bound to climb significantly higher, or there likely won’t be a new owner.

The trim tag and original build sheet show this car to be true to the way it originally left the St. Louis factory, though the original Can-Am White has been repainted by a previous owner and blue and red pinstripes have been added. The great condition of the red vinyl interior also seems to suggest that the seat covers, door panels, and carpet might not be original.
Most enthusiasts will be more worried about what is under the hood, which by the way was replaced with a ’69 427-style one because the previous owner preferred the look and discarded the original, in case you’re wondering. Regardless, underneath that new hood, you’ll still find a 350/300 horsepower V8 mated to a four-speed manual transmission, like the overwhelming majority that year. In March 2021, the carburetor was rebuilt and a new fuel pump and spark plugs were installed.

Additional work four months earlier included the installation of red aluminum brake calipers, stainless-steel hoses, and brake master cylinder.
Other features include power steering, four-wheel disc brakes, dual exhaust, black canvas top, body-color removable hardtop, Positraction, 15-inch Rally wheels, and Firestone Wide Oval tires.
