BangShift.com If You Drooled Over A Porsche 959 In The 1990s, Then Check Out The KALMAR 9×9 : The .15 million 959 Hypercar Tribute

I wasn’t a huge Porsche fan growing up, but I certainly appreciated them and was as impressed with them as anyone else. I mean who doesn’t dig an air cooled 911 or a 930 slant nose? Or a 944? Or a 928 S4? Crap, okay so maybe I am a bit of a Porsche fan. But I grew up through the 1970s, 80s, and 90s when Porsche’s were evolving at a rapid rate. So when the 959 came out in the late 1980s, and was the quickest and fastest production car on the planet, everyone talked about it. And I mean everyone.

So when this KALMAR 9×9 came to be, as sort of a tribute or modern variant of the 959, everyone that heard about it also started talking. This thing is rad. And I mean ultra rad, and I am in love. Maybe this one needs to go on the “If I won the lotto” list.

Video Description:

In a world full of Porsche 911 restomods, it’s quite refreshing to see something a little different. The KALMAR 9×9 may be built on a 993 911 chassis, but it pays tribute to a Porsche that was generations ahead of its time. The wonderfully over-engineered 959.

When we got the call from Jan Kalmar, founder of KALMAR Automotive, asking if we’d like to be the first to experience the 9×9 as a full-driving prototype, we couldn’t say no. The 9×9 is a hypercar that is designed to be no garage queen. It demands to be driven. And so, to display the car in London for its debut, we joined Jan from Milan, that’s right, Milan, as he drives the $2.15 million hypercar through some treacherous conditions. It may be comfortable on a motorway, but just knowing that it can get you from 0-60mph in around 2 seconds demands your respect. If you want to see the car in the flesh, you better have your 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed presented by Mastercard tickets ready!

So, join us as we travel and discuss what makes the car so special with Jan himself.
