Callum Skye interior revealed – PistonHeads UK

You’ll remember the Callum Skye, first shown last year, because it looked how we all dreamed an electric SUV might once look: compact, futuristic, innovative and exciting. Described as a ‘high-performance, multi-terrain electric vehicle, created for owners seeking extraordinary on- and off-road adventures’, the Skye looked like a perfect weekend toy.

Now, with the configurator online and the real thing surely not far away, the Callum Skye’s interior has been shown. The spec seen here is for the ‘dynamic’ variant, with a more rugged ‘capable’ cabin coming, and there’s already a lot to be encouraged by.

‘Arctic Pearl’ Bridge of Weir leather adorns pretty much every surface, accented here with Vitamin C orange and satin gunmetal grey. The ‘blade-like centre console’ features all the important switchgear, with a central touchscreen up top and cupholders behind. There’s everything you’re going to need, including a ‘tactile, rubberised’ finish in the footwell for mucky boots. Expect much more of that coming for the more off-roady version.

For now, luxury is the focus for this Skye, with ‘deconstructed tartan’ printed on the door cards, dash and glovebox, more leather on the kid-friendly rear seat, and the metallic surfaces said to match the quality of the recently finished C-X75.

“While the Callum Skye is capable and has a rugged exterior, the interior design is carefully and considerately refined to deliver a premium feel at every touchpoint,” said Aleck Jones, head of design at Callum. “Clever design solutions keep the interior simple but not simplistic, giving it a light, airy and refined feel while being within a compact cabin. Its success is down to its careful balance of opposing factors, baked into an exterior that people understand and enjoy.”

Next steps include the off-road-focused interior (to be seen next year) with a configurator online – pink with a black accent loop looks good – as well as orders open. Callum says a Skye will cost anything between £80,000 and £110,000, probably depending on how much BoW leather you’d like. In terms of raw stats – 170 miles, 42kWh, four metres long – that’ll look a lot, if surely the ultimate off-road accessory for those who already have a Vanquish or C-X75 that Callum has overhauled. Green laning will never be the same again.
