So here is something interesting that we caught over at the MidEngineCorvetteForum this week. One of their members who is waiting for his Corvette to be built was looking at the stats of current Z06s built on C8Tracker.com and found that five identical Z06 Convertibles were built and shipped to GM.
Milfordman says the Z06s were all Convertibles, and they were well-optioned in Sebring Orange Metallic with Habanero interiors. All five are optioned exactly the same with a $183K price tag that includes $49,340 in optional equipment, and all are going to General Motors in Warren Michigan. He also believes these were the first Sebring Orange Z06s built, which appears to be confirmed with the data on C8Tracker. The VIN sequences for these five Z06s are #1404, #1412, #1419, #1249, and #1447.
Another member chimed in that these five Corvettes were ordered for the Product Evaluation Program (PEP)/Special Event “which means either they are going out to different events and auto shows or they go to PEP Product Evaluation Program. This program is for senior level GM managers they drive these cars for 3 months and evaluate them.”

We pulled the window stickers and all five Convertibles also equipped with the Z07 Performance Package with Visible Carbon Fiber Aero, Visible Carbon Fiber Wheels with Orange Brake Calipers, Carbon Flash Nacelles and Roof, Front Lift, Engine Appearance Package, and Black Exhaust Tips. Inside are the GT2 seats in Habanero and they all have the Level 2 Carbon Fiber Interior Trim with Stealth Interior Trim as well.
While these five Z06 Convertible may indeed be used as evaluations, we find it out-of-the-ordinary that all five were ordered with exactly the same high priced options. Might these instead be headed to GM design for the basis of a future special edition in which case multiple examples would be useful to have around. Time will tell.
